WINDJANA GORGE

After Derby we went to Windjana Gorge. When we left Derby we saw the Boab Prison tree. It is a huge tree with a big hole in the middle where they kept prisoners overnight so they can take them to jail the next day.

 When we got to Winjana Gorge we went to Tunnell Creek. It is a very long and dark tunnel with the creek running through it. We needed a torch to walk through the water in the dark to get to the end. There were crocodiles in the water (Dad showed us their red eyes reflecting back in the torchlight but only told us on the way out!).

The next day we walked along Winjana Gorge. It was very (VERY) hot and I did not like it. We saw lots of crocodiles on the river bank and my dad almost stepped on one.
